This week: I will have Mark A. Smith live. We will be discussing his ebook “Preparedness-The Basics and Beyond” Mark A. Smith brings a strong background in preparedness know-how to this book, the consequence of decades of working in the fields of safety, security, firefighting, emergency medical care, and hazardous materials handling. He has been a Preparedness Consultant since 2001. Among his background experience is a 3-year stint as Safety/Security Director at the Blue Ridge Job Corps Center, Fire Chief/Firefighter at Lackawanna Volunteer Fire Department in Ely NV, and an EMT-I at Ely Volunteer Ambulance Services. He did a tour with the Marines, 1982-89, and served in the Indiana National Guard (including riot control training). He has been a presenter at two national safety and health conferences, discussing hazardous materials handling and awareness, and is the author of four articles on haz-mat handling. He put his life on the line for two years as a Certified Wildland Firefighter. Today, Mark is the owner of Southern Plains Consulting, an Oklahoma-based preparedness firm. He is active as a speaker, lecturer, and participant at multiple preparedness conferences, and has been the primary developer of three expos devoted to survival and preparations. Mark lives on a working farm, and participates in cattle handling and care, as well as crop preparation and harvesting. He brings this wealth of knowledge and experience to this book, his second publication with Auctoritas Publishing. His first book, an alternative history novella, Roma Victrix, has sold internationally. It is also available on Amazon.com as a Kindle ebook.
