Detoxification / Cleanse – A Double Edged Sword

The process of healing and health recovery can sometimes involve symptoms that may be as severe as a serious illness.

Often a part of the healing process necessitates triggering a body detoxification and cleanse.  Just like it’s hard to repair and refinish a house when it’s full of trash, so it is with our bodies.  Cleaning “house” can make it possible for the body to repair and rejuvenate.

In order to maximize the benefits it’s important to understand this part of the healing process.  One challenge of the detox/cleanse is that it can be extremely unpleasant.  How do you know it is a detox/cleanse and not an actual illness?  Is it best to let the symptoms run unchecked or should they be managed?  Can a detox/cleanse be hazardous?  Are there ways of making a detox/cleanse more effective?  Is there a time to avoid triggering a detox/cleanse and is there a time to push one?

Dr. Jed Adamson brings to his profession an unusual blend of traditional medical training enhanced by a deep understanding and experience with natural, companion and holistic approaches.

For the past 12 years he’s operated the Adamson Naturopathic Clinic in Twin Falls, Idaho.  Dr. Adamson is also the founder of the Intermountain College of Natural Health registered with the State of Idaho.

For 20 years he was a certified professional in Idaho Emergency Medical Services: 12 years as an E.M.T. and 8 years as an Advanced E.M.T. & Cardiac Tech.  For 7 years he was an instructor for Idaho E.M.S. as a Basic Course Instructor, Advanced Course Coordinator and Special Pediatric Airway Instructor.
