9:00-10:00PM CT: Self-Reliant Living by Safe Harbor Alliance, hosted by Jim Phillips.
Connie and Jim Cheney Living in Winter with Little or No Heat in the Home Attitude is the most important survival tool that you have in order to make it through tough times. It’s not what you own that will ultimately get you through very hard times, rather it is first what is in your head and heart that will determine the outcome. Connie and Jim have been learning about attitude and approaches to living in winter with little or no heat while living in their camping trailer parked at the construction site of their new home. Although they do have propane heat available, they have chosen to use this opportunity to learn valuable knowledge. Their experiences and insight will be invaluable in helping others prepare for times when people’s lifestyle may change dramatically due to long-term loss of utilities and other services.
Jim Cheney is by profession a software development engineer; however, he has a very broad background in a number of professional fields. He’s had his own enterprise designing, building and delivering small portable solar-electric packages. He is always experimenting and trying new things to make life safer and more enjoyable in the event of emergencies of all types. Connie Cheney is a housewife and grandmother who enjoys working with her husband on their preparedness projects. You will remember them from an earlier program we did here that is now a YouTube video series: “What Others Say About Winter Without Worries.” If you watch that You Tube video, you will understand just how committed they are in learning how to be okay no matter what.
