9:00-10:00PM CT: Self-Reliant Living bySafe Harbor Alliance, hosted by Jim Phillips.

Guest:  Mat Stein, author of When Technology Fails

Existing Trends Leading to Technology Failure
Matthew Stein’s book begins: “Technology will fail.  You can count on it.”  Is that really possible?  How vulnerable are we?  Surely we’re smarter than previous civilizations?  Aren’t such statements just designed to scare people into buying a bunch of survival supplies?  We’ll explore in depth factual trends that can lead to such failures.

After all, understanding the real possibilities makes it easier to move into focused and productive activity, rather than running around frantically trying to get ready for some vague catastrophe.
Matthew Stein is the author of the bestselling book When Technology Fails: A Manual for Self-Reliance, Sustainability and Surviving the Long Emergency, a comprehensive manual on sustainable living skills, survival, and disaster preparations.  Stein is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) where he majored in Mechanical Engineering.  As the owner of Stein Design & Construction, he builds hurricane-resistant, energy-efficient and environmentally friendly homes.  Mat is a design engineer and green builder.  Among other things, he designed consumer water filtration devices, solar PV roofing panels, medical bacterial filters, emergency chemical drench systems, computer disk drives, and portable fiberglass buildings.

Stein has appeared on numerous radio and television programs and is a repeat guest on Fox News, Lionel, Coast-to-Coast AM, and the Thom Hartmann Show.
