Americans are finally learning that too much exposure to ultraviolet radiation, whether from the sun or from tanning beds, can cause premature aging and skin cancers - some of these cancers being potentially fatal if not treated early.  However, what Americans don't know is how to effectively protect themselves or that sunscreen is only one part of the equation. Now leading medical organizations are using SunAWARE, an acronym for five simple steps to prevent and detect skin cancer, for educating patients and families.  Mary Barrow, creator of the acronym and executive director of the SunAWARE organization, will explain what the AWARE acronym stands for, its history and its importance.
