The Importance of Building Community NOW

Discuss the vital need of becoming part of such a like-minded community and the process of how to build one. Building and participating in a functional community of provident-living-minded individuals and families is vital for those serious about total preparation.  This needs to be done now while conditions are good, not when anarchy is all around you.  Begin now and establish your operational community before the need is at hand.

Very often the thought and related actions are about me and my own, thinking that everyone is their own functional independent little kingdom and can care for themselves.  The irrefutable experience of history, both in the past and in our day and age, is that when conditions are at their worst, individuals (including single families) rarely survive.  Rather it is cohesive and synergistic communities that survive and even thrive during these times.

Profile

Keith Chandler has been developing self-reliant living skills for more than 20 years.  For several years at one point, he and his family lived in Gold Hill, a very remote location on the west desert of Utah.  It was 30 miles of dirt roads to the nearest services.  He and his wife produced most of their own food and had many interesting and educational experiences.

In his current community, he has his own milk cow, chickens, rabbits, and garden.  In the past, he also raised ducks and goats as a part of his provident living lifestyle.
