9:00-10:00PM CT: Family Garden Doctor with Master gardener Jim Kennard of the Food for Everyone Foundation. Learn how to grow a great garden in ANY soil, no matter where you live!
Tonight's Topic: Homegrown Tomatoes. This week your Family Garden Doctor interviews a good gardener by the name of Ernie Shivers. He is NOT a Mittleider gardener, so be sure and join us as we discuss the different methods, and their effects on yield, taste, etc.!
Ernie Shivers has been an avid gardener for years. He has a half-acre garden area where he grows tomatoes, corn, okra, squash, butter beans, butter peas, peppers, lettuce, sweet potatoes, onions and figs. Every summer people begin calling or visiting to see how the tomatoes are coming and if they can pick a few. Some ask how he grows tomatoes and he always gives them some tips, but he hasn’t put all the steps together in an easy to follow guide… until now.
Ernie's Homegrown Tomatoes is an online class designed for people who want better tomatoes from their own garden. For more info go to www.growtomatoestoday.com.
