Wednesday, September 1st, at 7:00PM CDT.
7:00-9:00PM: September is National Preparedness Month! What better way to start than to talk about CERT (Community Emergency Response Teams)?. The idea got started in 1989 in California after the Loma Prieta Quake to help train resident volunteers to take care of themselves, their families, & their community By 1993 FEMA made CERT a nationwide program and now CERT operates in 51 States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands & Guam. Dawn and DJ will explain how CERT is helping people prepare themselves, their families, their neighbors and their communities to "do the most good for the most people" in the event of natural or man-made disasters or emergencies.
