GUEST BIO: Na’Quavaha Mutakabbir, wife of Sijo/Grandmaster Abdul Mutakabbir, is a 5th Degree Black Belt within the SWAM Academy of Modern Martial Arts. She started her training as the only female at New York City’s legendary SWAM, within the infancy years of this 30 -year-old organization. During those 27 years of consistent training she acquired her Master rank and gave birth to Sijo/Grandmaster Mutakabbir’s two youngest sons. The equivalence between the time frame of training and the rank received shows that it is very difficult to acquire rank in the SWAM Academy of Modern Martial Arts.
Currently, studying for her Doctorate at Walden University in Health Psychology, this warrior woman is pursuing her dream of being a Heath Psychologist, PhD. Na’Quavaha completed the Professional Fitness and Nutrition Program, is a certified as an AFAA Personal Trainer (AFAA-Aerobics and Fitness Association of America), and KardioKickbox® Aerobic Kickboxer.
