This Friday's show was dedicated to highlighting the oppressive nature of the regulations that shadow every small business owner and entrepreneur. How many of you working in corporate America thirst to do you own thing? So what holds us back?Most people have the innate desire to do the right thing. However the regulations imposed upon trade and service business are oppressive. Think of how much money the "Americans with Disabilities Act" costs us. Think about how much tax a business owner may pay on the following:1. Payroll - Remember smart business owners pay their employees first.2. Inventory3. Capital Equipment - Pizza Oven, Tractor, Printing Press - what would Ben Franklin think?4. Social Security5. Capital Gains - a black-eye for being successful busting your bare-behind.So no wonder fewer people venture out. Not doubt that this is by design of our congress - this means guaranteed income to the federal government by way of Withholding. Yes the billions of dollars we pay each pay-period. If we all become 1099 or LLC's, the FEDs wouldn't see that money until the quarter or year-end. Damn straight - the US Government would stand in fear - and perhaps impose yet another tax or regulation.But don't let this stop you. Think clearly - where do you want to be in 5 years?And start now - this life is only temporary.
