Entreprenurial Thirst v. US Government Regulation

This Friday's show was dedicated to highlighting the oppressive nature of the regulations that shadow every small business owner and entrepreneur.  How many of you working in corporate America thirst to do you own thing?  So what holds us back?

Most people have the innate desire to do the right thing.  However the regulations imposed upon trade and service business are oppressive.  Think of how much money the "Americans with Disabilities Act" costs us.  Think about how much tax a business owner may pay on the following:
    1.  Payroll - Remember smart business owners pay their employees first.
    2.  Inventory
    3.  Capital Equipment - Pizza Oven, Tractor, Printing Press - what would Ben Franklin think?
    4.  Social Security
    5.  Capital Gains - a black-eye for being successful busting your bare-behind.

So no wonder fewer people venture out.  Not doubt that this is by design of our congress - this means guaranteed income to the federal government by way of Withholding.  Yes the billions of dollars we pay each pay-period.  If we all become 1099 or LLC's, the FEDs wouldn't see that money until the quarter  or year-end.

Damn straight - the US Government would stand in fear - and perhaps impose yet another tax or regulation.

But don't let this stop you.  Think clearly - where do you want to be in 5 years?
And start now - this life is only temporary.

Small Businesses represent the most dynamic elements of the American economy. Nowhere else in the world can an idea be brought to economic fruition with such magnitude. Given this, why have politicians who look to stifle them?

    Perception Revolution - Unintended Consequences

The King Court Talk Show debut was certainly a revealing test-bed for what works and what does not.  Despite some technical and continuity irregularities - the content was dead-on intriguing:

    1.  GE Power & US Government mandate to ban incandescent light bulbs.  Enjoy your new obligation to purchase compact florescent bulbs - hope you enjoy your new green hue.

Not necessarily a bad or evil bulb however, having a government mandate to buy your product -in this case GE - is a great way to generate revenue with advertising to the market.

    2.  Stock Market Got You Down? - My recommendation is that you not follow the sheep in corporate finance (Citigroup).  Just take comfort in that Ivy League corporate types do not have a monopoly on how to effectively run a business.  As always, short-sighted gains lead to trouble over the long haul.  Net-Net leave your money where it is, the US economy will grow.  Consider know a great time to buy.

    3.  The Green Movement - It has permeated our culture today - green cars, houses, cosmetics, and at the end of the "economic chain" toilet paper.  The popular perception is that the Green Movement is based in Grass Roots - young folk trying to make a positive contribution - au contraire mon frere.  Would you be interested to know that Waste Management is closely related to the green movement?

Again not necessarily a bad thing but think of this way - Donate $10 to yourgreengroup.org and $5 goes to planting a tree, the other 5$ to WM.  Why not spend $10 and get 100% of a tree - in your own yard.  Be aware of what we get sucked into.

The perception revolution and your lack of awareness and reluctance to question will have its unintended consequences down the road - and then what?

The current state of Federal Income Tax and Public schools is not what was originally intended.

    Kings Court - DJMixon

The King will be holding court discussing gaps and omissions in our media as the report what is often taken as fact. So upon what truth are policy and legislative decisions being made?

  • Date / Time:

    Rescheduled - Jan 18th 6pm

Apologies - the debut show will occur Jan 18th, 2008 at 6pm. Please make yourselves available for this intriguing conversation. Thoughts for the future episodes:
    1. Corporate Foibles - Share how companies defy logic and common sense.
    2. Global Warming - seems like this issue really heats up come Spring time.
    3. Business Start-Ups - Your ideas are indeed opportunities, don't sell yourself short.

In general, we as humans confuse our long-term goals with short-term wants.

  • Date / Time:

    1st Episode Feb 18th 7pm

    Everyone,
As this 1st episode comes together, my intention is to bring out some rather controversial notions around what is being reported today.  Naturally, we will shake a few foundations of what is conventionally accepted coming out of today's media.

Be very afraid, the misconceptions promoted today, will be in tomorrow textbooks as fact.
    Hot topics:
    1.  Bhutto - Saint or Arafat of Pakistan - Why don't we throw Chavez in the mix as well.
    2.  McArthy - Hallmark of Right Wing zeal or a true patriot?
    3.  Lincoln - All presidents must inspire the citizens to fight a losing war.  What was his platform for inspiring conscripts...

Learned guests are being solicited now.

    Cheers,
    Jaudon
