Join us as we continue our "Literary Journey" with writer, poet and diplomat Octavio Paz. He was introduced to literature early in his life through the influence of his grandfather's library, filled with classic Mexican and European literature. During the 1920s, he discovered the European poets such as Gerardo Diego, and Juan Ramón Jiménez, Spanish writers who had a great influence on his early writings. Paz; a prolific author and poet, published scores of works during his lifetime, many of which are translated into other languages. He's the recipient of many awards such as; the Jerusalem Prize for literature on the theme of individual freedom, the Neustadt Prize and in 1990, he was awarded the Nobel Prize for literature.
