Join us as we continue our literary journey with American novelist and journalist Theodore Dreiser. He is known for pioneering the naturalist school and also known for his portrayal of characters whose value lies not in their moral code. Dreiser's writing career was like no other, as a lot of time he was forced to battle against censorship because of his depiction of some aspects of life, such as sexual promiscuity which often times offened authorities and popular opinion. Dreiser is known for such works as: "Sister Carrie" (1900), "Jennie Gerhardt" (1911), "An American Tragedy" (1925), and many others. Although known as a novelist, he produced a collection of short stories titled: "Free and other stories." All in all, when many refer to Theodore Dreiser most say he had an enormous influence on the generation that followed his, and that, he projected a vitality and an honesty that established several of his novels as classics of world literature. Tune in a we journey with the one and only Theodore Dreiser. Stay tuned and keep it locked.
