What is it about the current human condition that is causing so many people to abandon their own intuitive natures putting their faith and trust in a spiritual guru, or organized religion? Success at Last

Last week we had technical difficulties and couldn't get Kim and Steve on the show, so we decided to do it again this week with much success.  It was a great show, and once again, not long enough to cover everything we wanted to talk about.

The subject of curing narcissism is quite complex and although we use those two words "curing narcissism" we really are not curing anything.   What Kim talks about is changing oneself and the way he/she approaches conflict.  Also how one deals with abuse.  She talks about parenting the immature child within the man she loves and looking at the behavior as being immature and defensive rather than evil and calculated.

However Kim also does not say that her suggested methods will work in every case.  Some relationships can be improved and some won't.  We have to be careful not to misconstrue her teachings to mean that one should tolerate abuse or stay in a relationship that is abusive.  Instead she gives methods to defuse an argument before it escalates to a violent episode, how to deal with the police, get the support you need and how to talk to your partner in a more effective manner.

I think she gives advise that can be helpful in any relationship.  It is worth looking into.

Narcissism Cured Interview with Kim and Steve Cooper

    Hi Friends,

Kim and Steve Cooper called into the show from Austrailia but there was some kind of technical issue and although they could hear me, I couldn't hear them.  So the show went on without them. Suprisingly it was very good as I talked to a couple survivors who are familiar with both my work and Kim's.  We had a very enlightening conversation which will be helpful to many.  I encourage a listen, if you haven't already.

Kim and Steve will be back for another try.

Can Narcissism Be Cured - Part two

Back by popular demand Kim and Steve Cooper are returning to talk more on the topic we ran out of time on last show. Narcissism Cured! We didn't get the opportunity to talk with Steve last show and will get him on this time. Kim lived with her husband Steve's Narcissistic Personality Disorder for years before deciding to make a change and it was the change she made within her self that effected Steve's change. Now, according to Kim, author of "Back From The Looking Glass," Steve is now narcissism free. Join us as Kim and Steve share their story.

    Interviewing Narcissist Sam Vaknin

Wow, it was a challenge getting this show launched today.  I had difficulty connecting with Sam in Macedonia and the show went live before I could get him on the show, so this explains my rough intro.  But things smoothed out once we settled in and started talking.  It amazes me this technology that allows me to interview someone in another Country so technical difficulties aside it went well.

Sam Vaknin brings an interesting perspective on narcissism, the inside one.  He believes one should not use the term narcissistic personality disorder unless the person being labeled has been formally diagnosed.  Instead he feels we should refer to those with narcissistic characteristics as abusers.  However being this is a very subtle and confusing type of abuse, I feel it benefits victims to consider the possibility of narcissism, whether the abuser is experiencing some traits or all of them.  It helps victims to understand the complexity and craziness of the abuse.  I suppose there is a difference between saying that ones abuser has narcissistic personality disorder and saying he is narcissistic.  One implies a diagnosis where the other implies a set of characteristics that fit within the definition of a narcissistic personality.
