How often have you convicted yourself for a crime that you either didn't commit or can't change the outcome? Guilt is a normal emotional signal that we learn early in our childhood development. It's purpose is to warn us when we've done something wrong, and to help us see how our behavior impacts ourselves and others around us. It is not meant to be a club with which we constantly beat ourselves up with. It should lead us to examine our decisions so we don't continue to make the same mistakes. We have to learn how to deal with our guilty feelings, either accept them when they are important or let them go when they're not. In order to do that, we have to recognize what type of guilt are we dealing with. Join me as we say, "Good Riddance To guilt."
