Dirty Dan and Mongo Man Show Wednesday February 25, 2009 Welcome Rick Saucedo Show #48

Rick Saucedo began his singing career in 1972 at the age of seventeen. At this time he and his band, “The Ambassadors” worked nightly at many local clubs and lounges. As people began to take notice of this young, talented “Elvis impersonator” he was approached by larger venues. In 1977 Rick performed at the Cabaret in Winnipeg, Canada. From there he was asked to star in the Broadway play, “The Legend Lives On” in 1978. He performed six nights a week for five months, never using a stand-in. He helped arrange the music for the title song, “The Legend Lives On”. Elvis’ background vocal group, the Jordanaires accompanied Rick in the play as well as D.J. Fontana, Elvis’ drummer. In 1979 Rick played the Stardust in Las Vegas, again accompanied by The Jordanaires and D. J. Fontana. In 1998 Rick performed as a solo act at the Alahambra Theatre in Aruba. He played nightly to a full house for a month. Upon his return to the states, Rick began performing with “tracks”. Not only does Rick enjoy performing to his own customized tracks but most venues prefer this type of show as well. Rick’s audience appreciates the close interaction that performing with tracks allows. For larger venues and festivals Rick performs with a live band. Music came naturally to Rick in many forms. As well as singing, Rick mastered guitar, bass, keyboards, drum, sitar and more. This talent led him to song writing. His greatest writing influence came from The Beatles. To date he has written almost fifty songs ranging from rock, country, gospel, love songs, tribute songs, Christmas and even psychedelic. His 1978 album, “Heaven Was Blue”, a surreal, psychedelic masterpiece is collected worldwide and is sought after by collectors. In 2008 an original copy of Heaven Was Blue sold for $1,500.00. In 1998 Rick produced the “Memphis I’m Coming Home” CD. The original Jordanaires sing background giving the songs a heavy Elvis feel. This CD is now in its’ second print

Dirty Dan and Mongo Man Show Wednesday February 18, 2009 Welcome Pen Fifteen Show #47

Pen Fifteen is a high energy, show/dance band covering the best songs from the princesses of pop and more (Britney Spears, Pink, Janet Jackson, Madonna, cat Dolls, Christina Aguilera, Cyndi Lauper, Joan Jett, Beyonce, etc...) This exciting show is fronted by 3 beautiful and talented women that sing the show complete with the dance choreography you remember from the original artists' music videos! But don't let their power pop wardrove and sex appeal fool you, Pen Fifteen doesn't miss a beat when they surprise their audiences with a little classic rock from bands like AC/DC or Cheap Trick. Let's not forget about the amazing, professional musicians that perform the songs behind the girls with incredible accuracy and passon that will keep your guests dancing and shamelessly singing along all night. This combination of singing and dancing, paired with a live band have made Pen Fifteen one of Chicagoand's hottest new show bands. Pen Fifteen was created and is managed by Andrew Blake, and veteran of the Chicago music scene. With 20 years of experience in the music business, thousands of shows, corporate events, festivals, and private parties all over the United States, the Pen Fifteen Show has been developed to deliver a performance that you won't soon forget.

Dirty Dan and Mongo Man Show Wednesday February 11, 2009 Dark Star Records Winter Fest

House Of Holland: Tommy Holland landed the job as Frontman/Lead Singer for Steppenwolf in his early career after John Kay left the band. Then Tommy signed to Atlantic Records with his band Holland in 1985 and released Little Monsters. This all star lineup includes Tommy Holland, Vernon Voss, Eddie Morris and Bobby Fields. Together these artists have performed with Aerosmith, Warrant, Journey, Jefferson Starship, Overkill, Dangerous Toys, Savatage and Others. Supermercado: The band is a collection of some of Chicago's finest Rock n' Roll musicians. Founder Matt Mercado first ripped up the Chicago scene in the early '90's with local legends Daisy Chain, leading to a seven figure recording deal with Mercury records (Kiss, Bon Jovi). The band changed its moniker to Mindbomb and recorded their first CD under the production of Max Norman (Mega Death, Ozzy Osborne). MindBomb went on to tour the US and Europe extensively opening for rock legends such as Kiss and Rob Halford. Mindbomb also gained critical recognition and many major motion picture sound tracks including the classics Cliff Hanger-Sylvester Stalone, and Kalifornia-Brad Pitt. We will have plenty of givaways at the Dark Star Records Booth so get there early. ATTENTION ALL UNSIGNED BANDS: There will be a special ALL AGES show starting at 4pm featuring three up and coming acts. Also we will be accepting demo submissions starting at 4pm and going all through the night. We will listen to everything that is submitted to us.
