Just listened to your interview w/Aida Donald; TR is a fascinating subject. One of the most touching stories from his childhood was told my TR himself; he wrote how his father would walk the floor with him all night when he was ill. TR was an asthmatic, as was I and nearly died from it when I was a kid, suffering is a great teacher. As you grow older you may be more sensitive to the brutal existances lead by others. I did not know about TR shooting a dog; poor thing, wrong place, wrong time.
