The Preamble to the Declaration of Independence is familiar to many citizens of the United States and though it will oft be repeated this weekend, there are far too many individuals not achieving the spirit of this momentous document. "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness" is definitely a worthy goal: But how can you or I have a good life, if our life is literally consumed with work? Our days, weeks and oftentimes our self-esteem is tied into how much, where and when we work for someone else; How can we have liberty if we can only come and go as our employer dictates? We have to ask permission to pick up our sick child; we have to ask permission to go to lunch; we have to ask permission to take a break; How can we achieve the pursuit of happiness when all of our pursuits result in the happiness of our employer? I am here to enlist recruits for the revolution of the entrepreneur! I'm a reasonable guy, but I have a few things I need to get off my chest. Come join in the conversation!
