"Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness" is definitely a worthy goal: But how can you or I have a good life, if our life is literally consumed with work? Our days, weeks and oftentimes our self-esteem is tied into how much, where and when we work for someone else; How can we have liberty if we can only come and go as our employer dictates? We have to ask permission to pick up our sick child; we have to ask permission to go to lunch; we have to ask permission to take a break; How can we achieve the pursuit of happiness when all of our pursuits result in the happiness of our employer?
