Yesterday, nineteen innocent victims were directly impacted by the horrific shooting at the Fort Hood military base in Texas, with countless other friends and family members of those victims being indirectly affected. Thus far three have died, and sixteen more are injured, with the extent of injuries yet unknown. Whenever something like this happens, we inevitably can't help but start to tie in all sorts of emotionally charged political hot button issues. Generally guns and mental health/healthcare are the two that are guarenteed to come up from the left, and once again they did here, so we'll examine that. But furthermore, in this particular case we are also dealing with an Iraq vet, so foreign policy, specifically the Iraq war becomes another associated issue. Beyond that, we had the distgusting fascist/theocratic sounding off from the right the instant the shooting became news, with the assumption having been, gee, something bad happened? Must have been one of those anti-American Muslims, let's go slaughter them all!!! So, we'll examine that as well. Over the course of the half hour we will discuss how this shooting gets tied to the issues of -Guns -Religion -Mental Health -The Iraq War
