HONOURABLE DR PATRICK CHIKUSU

Generally regarded as the GODFATHER of Pharmacy in Zambia, Dr Patrick Chikusu is a pioneer who has inspired, educated, managed and elevated the comprehensive Healthcare delivery in Zambia. Currently the Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Health despite being a MMD Member of Parliament for Katuba. He is a Scientist involved in groundbreaking medical researches, a Lecturer at the School of Medicine, and a Spiritual Leader of his Faith. He is also the Chairman of the recently opened magnificent state of the art, Lusaka Cancer Centre which is one of the best in Southern Africa involved in prognosis, treatment, palliative care and research in Oncology(tumour). He is the former Managing Director of Medical Stores Ltd and introduced the popular Medical Drug Kits which were distributed all over Zambia according to the healthcare needs of the area,especially the rural areas. During his tenure as MD of Medical Stores Ltd, many Zambians trained to degree and PHD levels especially in pharmacy abroad under his stewardship. He was also involved in founding the first School of Pharmacy at UNZA.
