Now that popular culture (e.g. Danny’s song:  Yakumbuyo) has told us that homosexuality in Zambia occurs for various reasons, what should the health practitioners tell their patients, or what should educators tell their students if faced with these issues? We talk to Mumba Mumba, PhD who has interviewed men who have sex with men in Zambia. In fact most men do not agree with these labels.  Her “most striking interview was with a 52 year old man…, he narrated that he has been attracted to men from the time he was young. He went on to marry, and has teenage children. He recently divorced because his wife found out he was having affairs with other men and most of his partners were also married."
