Professor Clive Efford Chirwa is one of the World's authorities in International Clashworthness who is often consulted upon by NASA and has testified before the US Congress. He is also the Editor-in-Chief and Founder, International Journal of Crashworthiness, the Chair of Automotive & Aerospace Structures and Head of University of Bolton Automotive & Aerospace Research Group. In January 2010, he resign from the ruling MMD to join opposition United Party for National Development (UPND)in Zambia. UPND appointed him as its Chairman for International Relations. However, some people like Kaela Mulenga, PhD of Canada have argued that, "expert in the area of engineering, automotive & aerospace research – he is certainly not in other areas such as: diplomacy, international politics and political organization."
