We are so happyy to have you join us weekly as we go to war with the parasites that are invading our bodies. You don't want to miss this program.
Parasites are living things that use other living things - like your body - for food and a place to live. You can get them from contaminated food or water, a bug bite, or sexual contact. Some parasitic diseases are easily treated and some are not.
A parasite is an organism that lives in another organism, calledthe host, and often harms it. It is dependent on its host for survival - it has to be in the host to live, grow and multiply. A parasite cannot live independently. Although a parasite rarely kills the host, in some cases it can happen. The parasite benefits at the expense of the host - the parasite uses the host to gain strength, and the host loses some strength as a result. There are three main types of parasitic diseases: We will discuss themin the program.
