The mission of DSMA (Diabetes Social Media Advocacy) is to promote social networking in all its forms (Facebook, twitter, YouTube, etc) in order to educate and support all people affected by diabetes. The diabetes online community the opportunity to share and understand the challenges of physical, mental and emotional needs of this chronic condition. In an effort to share the mission of DSMA with the community, we decided to offer DSMA Live, DSMA en Vivo and DSMA Live: Parents Talk empower,connect, support people affected by diabetes. Monday (bi-weekly) at 9 PM EST: DSMA Live: Parents Talk Tuesday (bi-weekly) at 9 PM EST: DSMA en Vivo Thursday at 9 PM EST: DSMA Live DSMA Live: Parents ('Rents) Talk, DSMA en Vivo and DSMA Live is provided by Diabetes Community Advocacy Foundation (DCAF).

'Rents talks with Scott K Scolnick, M.Ed. Scott has had type 1 diabetes for nearly 40 years. In his professional life, he has worn many different hats. He has his Masters in Counseling Psychology with a focus on marriage and family therapy. He worked in that area for 18 years. He has worked for two pump companies for over 12 years. During this time, he did talks around the country on dealing with the Emotional Impact of Diabetes. In 2013, Scott had the opportunity to be a subject in the Beacon Hill Study, in Boston, using the Bionic Pancreas. Most recently, he joined Boston University and is working in the College of Biomedical Engineering where is working with Ed Damiano and his team on the Bionic Pancreas. Scott with present the results of past as well as current clinical studies with this dual hormone system.
