Conversation with Dr. Jen Dyer ( Ped-Endocrinologist)  and Dr. Kitchens (ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon)

Dr. Jennifer Shine Dyer is a pediatric endocrinologist in private practice in Columbus Ohio, an accomplished behavioral researcher with a MPH in health behavior studies, a mobile health entrepreneur having created the award-winning EndoGoal Diabetes Rewards App, and a social media enthusiast (@EndoGoddess). She is a thought leader in driving data-based health outcomes and behavior change with mobile health, gaming, and social media which she has discussed at The White House, Doctors 2.0 & You in Paris, TEDx, SXSW, Stanford, Mayo Clinic, mHealth Summit, and Harvard to date. 

 

Dr. John W Kitchens, MD is an ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon with Retina Associates of Kentucky in Lexington. He focuses on the medical and surgical management of diseases of the retina. His interests include angiogenesis, surgical retina including the management of retinal and choroidal detachments and ocular trauma. He is the president of the Kentucky Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons and serves in various leadership positions for both the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) and the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS).

Dr. Kitchens is an investigator for multiple clinical trials on age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular occlusive disease, ocular histoplasmosis syndrome and visual rehabilitation. He has written papers and given presentations nationally and internationally on topics including ocular imaging, macular holes, ocular histoplasmosis, AMD therapeutics, diabetic retinopathy, and innovations in surgical techniques.  In addition to this, Dr. Kitchens is a Board Examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a founding member of the Vit-Buckle Society as well as a member of the CONNECT Network.
