About Julie

My name is Julie Holt. I live in Tennessee and I'm a 34 year old mother of 3 children, my oldest (Lucas) is a type 1 diabetic. We've been active in walks and volunteering for JDRF since Lucas was diagnosed in 2005. I'm a family network mentor and support group leader for my area. Lucas is 12 and has been a type 1 for 7 years now. He's a thriving 12 year old who handles being a T1 with great stride :) He doesn't let it get him down. In the beginning I felt very alone after diagnosis. After going through a grieving process I started being pro active. And haven't stopped since :) We're looking forward to our local walk this year in Murfreesboro TN at the end of October. Our team name is Holt's heroes.
