In 2 Sam.9:1-5, we see a situation where the evil King Saul had been determined to find David to kill him as he knew he would be Israel's next King. But before he could find David, he and Jonathan would be killed in battle. But when they were killed in battle, a nurse who was caring for Jonathan's young son tried to escape as she thought David would find them and they would be killed with a revenge David would seek out.

When the nurse who was running to escape while holding Jonathan's son tripped and fell, she dropped the young child on cement who became crippled from that day on. This child's name was Mephibosheth.

Through no fault of his own, he lived in a town called Lo-debar, a despised, desolate and "no pasture" land as it was known.  Then one day, his entire life was about to change forever, as God had not forgotten him.
