I am sorry of the passing of your son in 2001. I also have a tat, which I have repented since then. Tattoo started outside of God. God has cleary stated in his word not to practice and mimic customs of pagan religions and occult practices. I know you mean well by getting that tat I know you are not doing it for satan, but once again, it is a practice that does not belong to Christ

I am 54, got a tattoo in honor of my son who passed in 2001. I am a Christian, and my son would love my tattoo. It is the number 43 in Chinese characters since I teach students from all over the world.
