Chief Justice Dr Willy Mutunga has stepped into the storm surrounding his deputy Ms Nancy Baraza, over allegations she brandished a pistol in the face of a female security guard at a premium shopping mall in Nairobi.Saying that no person "or institution in Kenya is above the law", the CJ ordered an internal investigation by the Judiciary of the facts surrounding the incident, and said he was convening "an emergency meeting of the Judicial Service Commission to discuss the matter."Dr Mutunga said the internal probe would happen regardless of the fact that the police are already investigating the incident.Locally, the story has gone viral on social networking sites Twitter and Facebook and was the most discussed topic on The Standard’s online pages at www.standardmedia.co.ke as well as Internet blogs, with most weighing in on who could be telling the truth between the Deputy Chief Justice (DCJ) Nancy Baraza and her accuser, Ms Rebecca Kerubo, a mother of three.Click here
