Reuben Kigame was born in March 13, 1966, Bunyore, Western Kenya. He is a Kenyan singer, songwriter, and first visually handicapped man to host a radio show in Kenya. His parents, Richard and Susan Kigame provided for the family through subsistence farming. His mother was born again for a long time and prayed incessantly for him while his father became a Christian while

Reuben was in high school. His mother's faith was very influential in his life and both parents supported him through many odds, never treating him as a blind son but supporting him as he was growing up and attending school. He has three brothers and three sisters.

Reuben is currently studying Master of Science in Journalism and Media Studies at the Moi University. He is concurrently taking a Masters in Christian Apologetics at the Southern Evangelical Seminary in Charlotte, North Carolina via distance learning. He received a Bachelor of Education degree in History, Philosophy and Religious Studies at the Kenyatta University and completed his high school education at the Salvation Army High School for the Blind in Thika.Reuben met his first wife Mercy Kigame at Kenyatta University in the late 1980's. They were married for 15 years until 2006 when she passed on following a tragic road accident. They had three daughters Shalom, Shekinah and Shema.
