MP calls for review of miraa ban in Tanzania

East African Community Assistant Minister Peter Munya wants the East African Community secretariat in kenya and Tanzania to work harmonised trade agreements and ensure miraa exportation is legalised in Tanzania.

Munya who is also the Tigania East MP said miraa is an agricultural produce like coffee, tea, banana, wheat, sunflower and it should not be banned from in the EAC bloc.

Miraa trade is illegal in Tanzania.

"If Tanzania is prevailed upon to change its laws Meru County where it is grown in large scale will benefut. I urge the EAC secretariat in Kenya and Tanzania to iron out any legal handles so that we can export miraa to Tanzania," said Munya..Should miraa be legalized.?
