The Kenya Community Abroad (KCA) is a socio-political, non-partisan organization which is currently registered in the US state of Rhode Island. It was founded in March 1997 with a view to giving Kenyans abroad a platform on which to network, exchange views and help bring change back home. It is composed primarily of Kenyans living outside Kenya. Associate membership is available for non-Kenyans wishing to join the organization. The organization has been involved in a number of high profile projects and its annual conferences and Excellence awards were held in esteem. Indeed, many prominent Kenyan and international personalities have graced functions hosted by this organization. No doubt, many of us look back to those times with a great deal of nostalgia. In recent times the organization has faced a myriad of challenges. Most notably the events related to the December 2007 elections in Kenya had a significant impact on the organization, its members as well as its operations. Indeed, we were set back a fair bit and hence the need for all of us to regroup and rebuild the organization. Our aim is to regain its glory and take it to the next level for the benefit of Kenyans. Exciting times are ahead and we invite you to jump on board and be part of the fun. Time has been spent rebuilding various organizational structures and now we are ready to start rebuilding the membership roll. In doing so we have endeavored and will continue to reach out to all Kenyans, more so those who are in the Diaspora. We would like to have members in every country where Kenyans are found and build up vibrant Kenyan networks everywhere.
