I met Jill Gurr in Los Angeles in 1979.  She was a producer for Theta Cable and screenwriter and I was an aspiring tv talk show host.  What amazing twists and turns both of our careers have taken since!

Jill is a dear, dear friend and I was delighted to learn she’d published her first book, Mentor Youth Now – A Guidebook for Transforming Young Lives.  This book gives us a timely, clear, inovative and definitive directions to mentors anywhere to be more effective with the most precious gift they have – their time.  Google “Jill Gurr” on Amazon to buy the book.

15 years ago, Jill founded the nonprofit Create Now whose purpose is to reach troubled youth through creative arts mentoring.  She has trained hundreds of mentors to help thousands of kids.  Jill has been featured on “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams,” CNN’s "Anderson Cooper 360°" and in the Los Angeles Times.  She is one of 8 people in the U.S. selected to be in an exhibition at the Museum of Tolerance called, "Everyday Heroes."
