I am a Daddy’s Girl – I strongly support positive, productive fatherhood for every child! Fathers bring a special ingredient to a child’s life that is unforgettable! There are fathers out there who care about their children, support their children and want to be with their children! We can no longer consider Cleo Huxtible and James Evans to be the father for every black child in America! There are resources that support and encourage fatherhood. Our black and brown children do have fathers! Please join Denise Bolds author of Raising Princes to be Kings: A Single Black mother’s Guide to Raising Her Black Son and Derek Phillips, Founder and Executive Director of Real Dads Network. Real Dads Network is an action oriented organization. The Real Dads Network engages in and sponsors a variety of activities – skill-building workshops, informational seminars, male mentoring, networking, Father Daughter Dances, Father awards banquet, community and school-based partnerships, advocacy, etc. – designed to educate and encourage men to embrace their roles as dads, husbands and leaders in the context of family and community life. The mission of Real Dads Network is to strengthen the institution of Black Fatherhood by promoting positive aspects of fatherhood in all medians, supporting fatherhood organizations and connecting men with resources designed to empower them to be “Real Dads:” present, providers, protectors and peacemakers. Get Ready to be EMPOWERED!
