Growing up as an African American little girl, it was challenging to find a black doll; especially one with ethnic features; one that look like me. Now in my 40’s I have seen the outcome of such a deficit for young black girls. I found an article on line talking about a black Barbie – I found Tabloach Productions doll creator Loanne Hizo Ostlie. Please Join Denise Bolds, MSW and guest Loanne Hizo Ostlie as we discuss the evolution of the doll for blacks in recognition of Women's History Month. Doll artist Loanne Hizo Ostlie has been customizing dolls well over 10 years. High quality paints are used for all her repaints and are sealed for long-term protection. She has won numerous honorable awards in the doll industry. Customer satisfaction is her priority as well as producing quality dolls for the most meticulous collector. A little girl having a doll that looks like her supports her ethnicity and is also a self esteem builder.
