Leukemia is malignancy of cells in the blood and Lymphoma refers to malignant tumors of the lymph system. Some of the specific leukemia blood cancer symptoms are anemia, recurrent infections, bone and joint pain, abdominal distress and difficulty in breathing. In the case of lymphoma blood cancer, the symptoms depend on location of cancer, where it has spread and the size of the tumor. It begins with swelling in the neck, underarm, or groin. Don’t miss this amazing episode… Dr. John Gerecitano from the Department of Medicine at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Lymphoma Services, Sasha Harry- the Community Outreach Manager for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society- NYC Chapter, and survivors Samira Muhammed, a Medical Technologist who is now retired from the Department of Pathology at Harlem Hospital and Saleem Majied a Calypsonian are my special guests; they will educate, motivate, inform and inspire us to be proactive with our health.
