Neighborhood non- profits are organizations that are central to the American Society. Over the past forty years the role of the non-profit has changed. They perform a greater job than taking care of specific needs. Non-profits are central to the quality of life in its community and represent the fundamental values of the community in which it serves. Non-profits are not businesses, nor are they governmental and they do no offer supplies or services; what a non-profit does that is different is present “a changed person.” As human agents their products are informing, educating and empowering the community- nurturing young men and women as they grow into self-respecting adults, raising awareness about health and wellness, seeing a cured patient, an empowered and proactive individual, and celebrating changed human-beings. Join our panel discussion about the resources provided by our neighborhood non-profits, the effect of the economy on the non-profits as they continue to try to provide services inspite of the lack of funding, the hard work of volunteers working to raise health and wellness awareness with workshops, seminars, health fairs, and media shows, and the future of grassroots neighborhood non-profits in the community. Chatroom is open. Comments or questions call: 347-945-5853
