Participation in cancer clinical trials is generally low overall- about 3% for adults. African Americans, Caribbean Americans and people living in rural areas are particularly under-represented. Inequities in participation contribute to ongoing health disparities as access to cutting edge advances and state-of-the art care that clinical trials provide is not always available in those communities. The Brooklyn Minority Based Community Clinical Oncology Program is based at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Kings County Hospital Center, and Maimonides Cancer Center to provide state of the art cancer clinical trials to the residents of Brooklyn, New York. Don't miss this most interesting and informative Interview with Natalie Baptiste- Clinical Research Associate for the Brooklyn Minority Based Community Clinical Oncology Program.
