THE ROOT: FORGIVENESS

Truthfully, when you stop to think about how badly someone wounded you, the mere thought of FORGIVING them seems unfathomable. Sometimes forgiveness just doesn't make sense...to us. But it makes plenty of sense...to God. If we took the time to add up ALL the wrong that have been done to us, it will pale in comparison to what Jesus experienced while He lived here on earth. And yet...in the midst of His darkest hour, as He hung on Calvary's cross, He cried out to His Father, "Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do." (Luke 23:34) How was Jesus able to forgive when it made no sense at all?
