FOCUS ON - STAR TREK: THE MOTION PICTURE

Star Trek: The Motion Picture directed by Robert Wise (The Day The Earth Stood Still) blasted into movie theaters in 1979. There are parallels to J.J. Abram's current big box office hit. Star Trek hadn't had much attention for years and the movie had a huge budget, all star cast and a huge marketing launch.
