Star Trek conventions can get a bad rap. These cons, and sci-fi, horror or fantasy gatherings in general, can be seen as a place for the 'weird' to gather. Nothing could be further from the truth. Of course, if 'weird' means passionate, loyal and intelligent fans partying about something they love, then perhaps Trekkers can be called 'weird.'
