When we were kids, our parents had that difficult, uncomfortable chat about the birds and the bees (or they should have).  Well, the tables are now turned and it is OUR turn to have an uncomfortable, difficult chat with them.

It is hard to get everyone together during the year, but holidays are when we make the effort.  So, as much as it may put a bit of damper on the holiday spirit - now is the time to have the 'what if' scenario played out when there are no dramas, and we can think more clearly than in the middle of one.

  • Do your parents have a current will?
  • Do they have enough money saved?
  • Do they have a final spot picked out? Do they prefer cremation?
  • Do they plan to remain in their home when their health and strength begins to fail? Do they have a plan in place to ensure they can?  How do they feel about ALFs (adult living facilities)?
  • Had a special needs sibling? Who will take care of them when your parents can't?

As a gift to you, I am including a link here to one of my proprietary forms I offer to my clients to help them with their 'just in case' plan,  It will be a good checklist to use when having this conversation.  Here is a video explanation of how to use this form.  If you do watch this, then, may I ask that you LIKE, Comment and Subscribe to my channel while you are there.

Listen in to an interview I did with Florida Attorney, Lizbeth Potts who does a lot of Estate Planning in her operation.
