It's Friday the 13th.  The season is summer, when the kids go off to camp to explore and have new adventures.  Remember when you went to camp?  You shot the bow and arrow, learned to make fire, played ball, swam, met the perfect girl at the waterfront after the social and then you got decapitated by the camp tranny.  You know wistful memories.  Death by DVD goes to camp this week, Sleepaway Camp that is. What?  Did you expect that today's date and that intro led into some other series of slasher films based at a summer camp?  We actually wanted to talk about a series of films that had some sort of...importance to the American lexicon, not a series whose main cultural influence was introducing hockey to middle America.  The kids should all be off to camp in the next few weeks, so we decided to prepare them for the worst (or the best if your name starts with Jeffery and ends with a Cambodian teens head in your fridge).  We'll be visiting Camp Arrowak as well as the other camps that Angela Baker was a camper/consoler.   We'll be doing Sleepaway Camp 1-The Return as well as discussing the legendarily lost Sleepaway Camp: Survivor and the yet to be sequels Sleepaway Camp: Berserk and Sleepaway Camp: Reunion 3D. That's right, Sleepaway Camp is the name and a duct tape tuck is the game.
