As many of you know, the month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Cancer is a serious illness in our society and most of us know someone close to us or through other associations who have survived their fight with cancer and some who have unfortunately lost their fight. Just this month Apple inventor Steve Jobs lost his fight to a rare form of pancreatic cancer, islet cell neuroendocrine tumor. This week’s show will focus on the past 30 years of cancer research and the current progress in the field. Millions of dollars both privately and from the government has been poured into the field of cancer research yet it seems we are no closer to a cure.
