Join Host David Ornette Cherry Tuesday evening August 27th, 2013 9PM pacific time 12AM eastern time, when he will be interviewing Michael Quinby, front man for the Roseland Hunters featuring some of Portland's musicians who have come together to celebrate the energy of New Orleans Funk, while allowing the world class caliber players to stretch out and get seriously NASTY.... Michael Quinby got his start playing blues in the ‘90s alongside the likes of Johnny Nitro and Tommy Castro in San Francisco’s North Beach. On tour with Joe Louis Walker and the Boss Talkers, Quinby met Nick Daniels (Dumpstaphunk) and Mean Willie Green (Neville Brothers), who initiated the aspiring blues man to New Orleans style funk. Quinby cut a record with Nick and Willie in 1999 and opened on tours for acts like Elvin Bishop and Buckwheat Zydeco. Then he put his guitar down for almost a decade. A move to Portland in pursuit of Chinook infested waters inspired him to pick it up again.

The Band consists of Michael Quinby on Guitar and Vocals, Damien Erskine on Bass (Gino Vannelli , Peter Erskine New Trio, The Jaco Pastorius Big Band), Reinhardt Melz on Drums (Buddy Guy, Earnestine Anderson, Steve Miller, Charmaine Neville), Brian Foxworth on Percussion and Vocals (Curtis Salgado, Linda Hornbuckle, Rubberneck, No Delay Band) And Chris Phillips (Philly’s Phunkestra) on keyboards and vocals.as he explores Organic Music and interacts with listeners on “Organic Nation”.
