Over the past thirty-five years, marriage has declined and the number of children born out of wedlock has increased. There are fewer fathers in the lives of the children being born outside of marriages. And, the diminishing number of fathers has contributed to a number of social problems, including teen crime, drug-related behaviors and child abuse. Yet, America’s Child Support System focuses on pursuing fathers for payment, as opposed to doing anything about making them present. This show will discuss the legal and ethical issues of child support and custody. Special Guest: Judge Mablean Ephriam, who practiced family law for more than twenty years before starring on “Divorce Court.” Judge Mablean is the founder of the event “Honoring Unsung Fathers,” a tribute to fathers each year on Father’s Day. Co-hosts Trey Whitaker and Demetria Richardson.
