Born in Flin Flon, Manitoba CANADA, Michael Kowch aka Michael Kay was raised in a small town pop. 1240, Preeceville, Saskatchewan. At 18, he moved to Regina, Sask, graduated from Richards Beauty College and started his hair career. Business owner at 23, he owned his own salon "Hot Hair Studio" and modeling agencies "Just One Model Agency INC" and "WOW" modeling school. Romantic interests lead Kowch to Vancouver BC, where he worked at the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa and Salon. Working his way up to Style Director and member of the Core 2 Design Team, he traveled all over Canada doing educational seminars, and platform demonstrations for Paul Mitchell in front of crowds of thousands. In 1998 he moved to Delaware and worked as Style Director of the Elizabeth Arden Red Door working his way up to General Manager of both the Bala Cynwyd and King of Prussia locations managing a staff of 35 and generating over 2 million in sales. In 2004, Kowch's now longtime partner of 13 years, Steven McGraw who was named as one of the top 13 hair stylists by ALLURE magazine in 2000, was diagnosed with secondary progressive Multiple Sclerosis forcing Steve into a power chair, sometimes bedridden. In 2005, Elizabeth Arden closed locations and I lost my job. With Steve's deterioration, I had to just take care and not return to work. Years of around the hour care later, it was because of FACEBOOK and the online adoption of a kitten that I met a wonderful network of friends such as Colin Lively and Anthony Mark Hankins that I met Victoria Gaither. I continued to listen to Victoria's show during the darkest time of Steve's illness, out of comfort and contribution. Through the stillness, I found my passion. Working as chat room producer with At Home W Victoria gave Kowch the renewed sense in faith and trust in allowing oneself to follow the path.
