The Honorable Elijah Muhammad , my fathers friend and who had my father Dan Burley manage and edit the first publication of it's kind, Mohammad Speaks. 

 The Son of Man - Founder of the New Black Nation of Islam
The Son of Man, leader and teacher of the New Nation of Islam, was born November 26, 1950 in Leland, Mississippi. His parents were sharecroppers. They moved to California when the Son of Man was about 3 and 1/2 years old. He grew up in Los Angeles, California. 

   In 1973, the Son of Man visited Muhammad's Temple where he heard  and accepted the teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. He attended Temple #27 in Los Angeles, California. After the Honorable Elijah Muhammad passed in 1975, the Son of Man realized that he was the one chosen by Allah to continue His (Allah's) works, and raise his people from their spiritual grave, which he is doing to this very day. He began teaching in 1975 and later moved to Mississippi, where he established the foundation for what has now become an up and coming business district in southwest Mississippi.

     The Son of Man, with the help of the brothers and sisters (followers) with him, has already laid the foundation for what could be a marvelous beacon of inspiration for black communities throughout the United States, and then the world. He has invested a great deal of time and money in establishing state of the art facilities, and acquiring land to continue the building of this new nation. He has demonstrated sincerity and an unwavering commitment to seeing us truly independent by putting into action what he teaches. The Son of Man is teaching his people to awake to righteousness, come together as a new black nation, and to do for self.

     He is now ready to first show our people, and then the human family as a whole, what we are capable of accomplishing if we truly come together in unity and righteousness. This directive will finally bridge the gap between religion and business, thus enabling us to realize significant progress as a people and become a model for the world. This is the one component that has been missing in our communities; a truly divine, enlightening and uncompromising voice to both uplift our people mentally and provide tangible works that gives us a solid foundation physically.

     Everything from establishing a school over 30 years ago and proving that a school is really nothing but a mind enlightening atmosphere, to sacrificing his own personal comforts and taking a "freedom now" attitude, the Son of Man has certainly stirred hope in the hearts of children and adults alike in the small town of Fayette, MS.
