Highly acclaimed work

Kajsa's pioneering work has been acclaimed in many places around the world, and many have made the journey to see her work in practice. At different times, the Government of Sweden has sent three different ministers and their delegations on study visits. All were equally impressed. Sweden's Minister for Gender Equality at the time Margareta Winberg subsequently wrote a letter to Mrs Hillary Clinton in which Ms Winberg about Kajsa's work in preschools.

The Government of Sweden recognised her unique efforts with a specially instituted prize in 2005:

“For her pioneering efforts and for her courage – as the first preschool director to do so – to take on board ideas about gender equality in the preschool and then to translate these into practical methods.” Kajsa Wahlström's efforts set in motion a development that we have not yet seen the end of."
